Let’s talk about being deaf… now according to Wikipedia on this article… Deaf “definition” is a person who is either “hearing impaired” “hard of hearing” or plain “deaf” now I’d say that is wrong… And a deaf person should not feel bad or offended by its condition… I myself think that if you say you are deaf you are deaf that’s that… it really pisses me off when I tell people who ask me something I tell tem “I am deaf I can’t hear” yet they get closer to me and talk louder..
If I just said in a whole sentence, “I am deaf and I added, I CANT HEAR.” the logic of it is I am deaf no? if I was hearing impaired or could not be able to hear good, I would of said “I can’t hear speak louder please” or something similar, no? Another thing that pisses me off is, when I have a conversation and people ask me (mostly via msn chats of course) but but u can’t hear nothing at all? But but can u use hearing aids? Damnit. I said I’m deaf completely why u keep asking? Why you keep insisting me? I mean seriously if I said I’m deaf, I’m deaf I really hate the miss-use of the word deaf… one thing is being hearing impaired another is being deaf. Either u hear a lil bit and u use hearing aids which will make u a hearing impaired person, or hard of hearing… Or a person like me who can’t hear at all would make me deaf, no?
I have been deaf for over 5 years… And I’m ok with it, I adapted, don’t even notice it… I text a lot use msn, chats. so mostly now days even people who hear text, so is something normal easy to deal with.. But I dislike people who try to interfere my life, judging me on to why I don’t get a cochlear implant.. I mean what’s wrong with being deaf? Hearing is a privilege not a right… Just because you can’t adapt does not me someone else wont I have, missed it? Yes maybe I’d love to hear my girlfriends voice or even her daughters voice hear her first time when she talks would love that yes. But, what can I do? Stress myself? Um not… Dream of something I won’t obtain? Not… All I can do is live my life and that’s it..
Being deaf is not bad just give you extra abilities you expand yourself even more try to explore new ways of communicating with others either way just wanted to point those things out about the miss use of deaf.. Hope you enjoyed the read until next time.
